Junior Jets help young people and community groups reach for the stars!

Rocket Round Leicester is a free fun, family-friendly art trail which brings the people of Leicester together to share in the biggest art event the city has ever seen.

Now schools, colleges and community groups are being invited to co-pilot this space odyssey with a mini version of our incredible rocket sculptures – the Junior Jet!

The Junior Jets will touch down alongside the 40 Giant Rockets, forming a key part of the trail blasting across Leicester’s key landmarks, streets and open spaces in July 2021.

Those embarking on this exclusive journey with us will design and decorate their own Junior Jet, launching young people’s learning as well as their creativity.

There are just 100 Junior Jets available so schools, colleges and community groups are being urged to sign up soon to ensure they can be part of this out of this world opportunity.

Laura Betts, coordinator of the Rocket Round Leicester learning programme, said “We’d like to invite schools, colleges and community groups to join in the fun and become part of Leicester’s biggest art event.

“Students will love the space theme and learn whilst having a blast! In addition it’s an amazing opportunity to support young people’s creativity and wellbeing at a time when it’s needed more than ever.”

Supporting schools and colleges to blast off is a comprehensive learning pack, filled to the brim with great ideas to help teachers bring this project alive in their (virtual) classrooms.

Funds raised by Rocket Round Leicester will go to support LOROS Hospice. patient care.
