Junior Jet sculptures have landed!

Monday 12th July sees the launch of our Junior Jet art trail, a series of miniature versions of our giant Rocket sculptures, designed and decorated by local school children.

Our Junior Jets were SO excited for Leicester’s school holidays to begin, they have taken to the streets a week earlier than the giant #RocketRoundLeicester sculptures. Kicking off the first day of summer fun, the Junior Jet sculptures are whizz banging their way across the city on their own smaller trail.

Over 35 local schools and community groups joined the fun and created their very own Junior Jet as part of the Rocket Round Leicester Learning Programme. With vivid colours, students and groups across the city and county have painted, coloured, drawn and sketched their designs with astronomical creativity!

From Monday 12th July, you can follow the trail of technicolour Junior Jet across Leicester’s cultural and community spaces. Download the Rocket Round Leicester app from the Google Play and App store to begin your journey ahead of the main trail landing 19th July – a percentage of the proceeds goes directly towards supporting event organisers, LOROS Hospice.

You can find the Junior Jets in the Trail Hub shop in Highcross (from 19th July), Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, King Richard III Visitors’ Centre, Leicester Guildhall, LCB Depot and more! Click here to see the complete Junior Jet trail.

Don’t forget to post a pic and tag us!

With special thanks to Rocket Round Leicester Learning Programme partners; Leicester City Council, the National Space Centre and Leicester City in the Community.
