Leicester Business Improvement District (BID) was voted in in November 2017. The BID area includes 698 businesses, covering most of Leicester city centre. Over its five-year term, BID Leicester will raise £4.2m revenue to spend on initiatives that businesses voted for in the business plan which help to make the city a great place to live, work, study and do business.
All activity delivered by BID Leicester fits into three strategic themes: creating a clean, safe environment, such as the Cleaner Leicester partnership which has increased the amount of street cleaning in the city; creating a stronger business voice, such as our work to have Leicester credited as a Purple Flag city, recognising high standards in the evening and night-time economy; and raising the profile of the city through high quality marketing and a programme of events to drive footfall.
